Genevieve Woolen McCormick, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Sunday, (August 25, 2024) with her family at her side.

Genevieve was born on March 30, 1936 in Horse Branch, KY, the daughter of Alfred & Junie Payton Woolen, who preceded her in death when she was very young.

She was a homemaker and a housewife who enjoyed working seek and find puzzles, reading her Bible, making quilts and spending time with family.

Genevieve is survived by one daughter, Marcella Stevenson of Falls of Rough; and three sons, Don McCormick (Jean), "Little" Ron McCormick (Patina) both of Falls of Rough, and Ronnie Poynter of Leitchfield. She is survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, with many of these sisters-in-law becoming some of her very best friends. Many, many nieces and nephews also survive

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by both of her husbands, William Lee Poynter and Elliott McCormick; one son, Robert McCormick; two grandchildren, Chris Burba and Troy McCormick; one sister, Ella Mae Duncan and five brothers, Jesse Lee, Billie, Denver, Donald, and Garland Woolen.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (August 29, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
