George "Skip" Hensley Jr., age 61, of Bee Spring, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 26, 2021) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on September 11, 1959 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late George Sr. and Beatrice Childers Hensley.

He retired as a commercial truck driver and was a member of the Christian faith. He enjoyed working out, playing and watching sports, karaoke and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Renee Warren Hensley; his children, Kimberly Detrana of Elizabethtown, KY, Mike Hensley of Leitchfield, Shane Ashford (David) of Shelbyville, KY, Rachael Goodman (Brandon) of Cecilia, KY, Jeremy Ashford (Amanda) of Oakwood, OH, Brittany Hensley and Aaron Hensley (Penny) both of Leitchfield; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jan Deleuil. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Hensley and a sister, Vicki Burke.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, (August 29, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Brother Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Visitation will follow the service and last until 8:00 p.m.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.
