Geraldine Carroll, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, passed peacefully into her eternal rest on Friday, (March 29, 2013) at 3:38 p.m. with her caretaker, Ms. Kanitha Jones, by her side. She took one long, last breath here on Earth and her first fresh breath in her new eternal home.

She was born on September 17, 1936 in Sadler, KY, the daughter of the late Hayden and Dora Whobrey Carroll.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed working puzzles, needlework, and listening to her police scanner. She was a member of the New Hope (Sadler) Baptist Church.

She spent her last years at Parkland Manor Apartments, directed by Ms. Tonya Tucker, whom she admired very much. Especially in her last months, her church family at Sadler Baptist Church surrounded her with great love and tenderness, led by her dear friend, Ms. Jones. Hosparus provided tender care for which the family is very grateful.

She is survived by her sister; Elaine Campbell (Bill), one niece; Lynn Rhea (John), two nephews; Joshua Lewis (Sarah) and Caleb Burke all of Louisville.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leland, who died in infancy.

Her Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (April 2, 2013) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Joe Brooks and Junior Winchell will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations kindly be made to the New Hope (Sadler) Baptist Church.
