Gerold O'Connell, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (January 30, 2024) at Owensboro Health in Owensboro, KY.

He was born on July 30, 1959 in Racine, WI, the son of the late Arnold and Ann Evans O'Connell.

He was a truck driver who enjoyed working on trucks, fishing, and being with friends and family. He was a member of the Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Webb O'Connell; a son, Jared O'Connell (Kalynn) of Rough River; a daughter, Jessie O'Connell (Corey VanMeter) of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Catalanna, Haskel, Jayde, Junior & Kyrie; three sisters, Alicia Hazelwood (Bethel) of Falls of Rough, Sandra Kay McStoots of Butler County, Teresa O'Connell of Clarkson; a brother, Carl O'Connell (Reesa) of Breckinridge County, and a sister-in-law Sandy O'Connell of Ohio County. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold O'Connell.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (February 10, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
