Gladys Thompson, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, (formerly of Pierce, KY) passed away Tuesday, (July 23, 2013) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield KY.

She was born on March 26, 1928 in Pierce, KY, the daughter of John W. and Pearl Houk Jeffries.

She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist faith, who enjoyed shopping, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cricket Thompson of Leitchfield, two grandchildren, Adam (Christina) and Brandon (Karol) Thompson, both of Leitchfield, two great grandchildren, Ethan and Alexis Thompson, a step great grandson, Kyle, all of Leitchfield. A host of family and friends also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, one brother, Ovie Jeffries, and two sisters; Evelene Shadion and Irene Sherills.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (July 26, 2013) at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY. Bro. Mark Graham will be officiating. Burial will be at the Pierce Community Cemetery in Pierce, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 7:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
