Glen Dean "Jimmy" Elmore, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (August 20, 2008) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on April 30, 1932, in Grayson County KY, the son of the late Edward and Dolly Decker Elmore. He was a retired plant manager for Kelly Beehive Factory, a Kentucky Colonel, a Korean War Veteran and was a member and deacon of the Antioch General Baptist Church and the General Baptist Free Union Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Gail Elmore of Louisville, KY, and Judy Carol Elmore of Energy, IL, two brothers, Norman of Leitchfield and Lee Vernon Elmore of Clarkson, KY, two sisters, Iona Denmark of Leitchfield and Rheuelma Newton of Clarkson. Also surviving are three additional brothers, A.D. Elmore of Clarkson and J. D. and Howard Elmore both of Leitchfield, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Norene Mattingly Elmore.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (August 23, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
