Granvil Lee Salmon, age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (April 1, 2020) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born on February 3, 1939 in Yeaman, Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Fonzy and Maggie McClellan Salmon.

He was a retired truck driver, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking his guitar, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Yeaman Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Dena Payton Salmon; his sons, Teddy Salmon (Patty), Billy Salmon (Tami) and Jason Salmon (Glenda); six grandchildren, Adam Salmon, Andrew Salmon (Katie), Taylor Escue (Dustin), Logan Salmon, Mason Salmon and Gage Salmon; five great-grandchildren, Levi Salmon, Addison Salmon, Aubree Salmon, Raelynn Salmon and Kolbie Escue. He is also survived by two sisters, Eva Foreman and Hazel Shrader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Thomas, Elliott and Lessie Salmon; four sisters, Wilma Embry, Flora Reecer, Emma Ward and Lizzie Foreman; two half-sisters, Aline Young and Mary Howard, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private. Bro. Reed Young will be officiating the services.
