Harold Nile Rose, Jr., age 83, of Big Clifty, KY, passed away Tuesday, (April 7, 2026) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on July 7, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Harold N. Rose, Sr. and Bonnie Hounshell Rose.

He retired after 30 years of employment at Kitchen Kompact in Indiana working as a cabinet maker. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed hunting, trapping, and was a true outdoorsman. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He married his wife, Myrtle Pope Rose, in 1992. He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Leesburg First Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Myrtle Pope Rose; daughter, Shannon Bowles (Ed, Jr.); son, Harold N. Rose III; grandchildren, Eddie Bowles (Laura), Holly Bowles, and Tabitha Harrison; great-grandchildren, Liam James Bowles and Zander Harrison; and his brother, Cary Michael Rose.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Vernona Rose.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, (April 11, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and until time of services.
