Obituary
Harold John Smith, age 97, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday (March 22, 2010) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born, January 15, 1913, in Paradise In., the son of the late Leslie L. and Clara (Wood) Smith. He was a member of the New Harvest Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion, and a retired U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Geneva (Jackson) of 74 1/2 years, one son Larry (Joann) of Caneyville, two grandchildren, Leslie ( Robert) Cena and Steven (Heather) Smith, four great grandchildren, Jacob, and Emma Grace Cena, and Eli and Hannah Smith. He was preceded in death by five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (March 25, 2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Steven Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 11:00 a.m. 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
