Harry Egon Schneider, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 8, 2019) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on February 13, 1933 in Leipzig, East Germany.

He was a warehouse worker for Kroger. He was a Karate instructor and had earned a black belt. He loved living on the lake after retirement. Harry had escaped from his communist place of birth before the wall was built to divide East Germany and West Germany. His life was very difficult before he escaped. Harry met his wife in West Germany and a new life had begun.

He is survived by his daughter, Romy Schneider-Morris(Mark) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two grandchildren, Maria and April; and six great-grandchildren.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen, and will be under the direction of Dermitt Funeral Home.
