Obituary
Hazle M. Carroll, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 5, 2010) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on March 10, 1927, in Grayson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Nathan and Angie Decker VanMeter. She was a retired cook for Grayson Manor and was a member of the McGrew General Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Lonzo Carroll (Teresa), Perry and Terry Carroll, five daughters, Revona Hayes (Laymon), Sue Scott (the late Hershell), Effie Ashley (Leon), Ramona Bartos (David) and Trunetta VanMeter (Charlie), two brothers, Chesteen and Randolph VanMeter, one sister, Florence Decker, 36 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carroll, one son, Glendal Carroll, one foster daughter, Pauline Cook VanMeter, one grandson, Rayburn Carroll, one son-in-law, Hershell Scott and seven sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (December 9, 2010) at the McGrew General Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at McGrew General Baptist Church until time of services on Thursday.
