Henry Shartzer went to be with his heavenly father in Leitchfield, KY on March 2, 2011.

He was a member and deacon of the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer, and a WWII veteran.

He loved his church, and family, and enjoyed his friends at the Senior Citizen's Building.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Letha for fifty-seven years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Letha Stevenson Shartzer; his parents, Tom and Carrie Gragson Shartzer; one brother Riley Shartzer; and four sisters, Mary and Ruby Shartzer, Crittie Stillwell, and Elizabeth Williams.

He is survived by three daughters, Genrose Stevenson, Carolyn (Harold) Elmore, and Brenda Sue (A.D.) Elmore; and one brother, Walter Shartzer. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Criag (Beth) Stevenson, Eric (Kee`lee) Stevenson, Melissa (James) Newton, Frank Jones, and Anthony (Angela) Elmore; nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (March 5, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Rudd Kerr and Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch General Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

A Military Honor Ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
