Obituary

Herman Clinton Carter, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 18, 2017) at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was born on July 08, 1927 in Falls of Rough, KY, the son of the late Rev. Thomas E. and Bessie Mae Frank Carter.

A World War II Veteran of the US Army, he was a truck equipment mechanic and had been employed at Fontaine Truck Equipment.

He is survived by his two sons, Terry Lane Carter (Barbara) of Brandenburg, KY and Tom Carter (Karen) of Shepherdsville, KY; 10 grandchildren, William and Adam Carter, Tracy Stanisich (John), Patrick Carter (Christy), Terra Carter, Kevin Carter (Aarika), Billy Leach (Natasha), Samantha Yocom (Sean), Taylor and Logan McGlothlin; seven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Probus of Louisville, KY and Louise Purcell of Caneyville, KY; a sister in law, Virginia Carter of Georgetown, KY

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou Carter; a sister, Elnora Cockrill, and a brother, Edgar Carter.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CDT Friday, (May 26, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Compton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Memorial Park and Cemetery in Louisville, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
