Rev. Herman Hayes, 80 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 26, 2014) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on January 4, 1934 in Grayson County, KY the son of the late Oliver and Eva Duvall Hayes .

He was a dairy farmer and was an old time minister who loved church and enjoyed to sing.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mabel Hayes of Leitchfield, sons, David and his wife Beverly Hayes of Clarkson, Ronnie and his wife Sandy of Leitchfield a daughter, Janice Hayes Cole of Louisville and K.D. Hayes, grandchildren, Brad and his wife Erica, Heather and Amanda Cole, brothers, Stoy Hayes of Leitchfield, Harlan Hayes of Big Clifty, Carl Hayes of Leitchfield and a sister, Edna McClure of Leitchfield.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lindsey Hayes, 3 sisters, Nancy Jayne Hayes, Gladyes Hayes, Anna Pearl Hayes and a brother, Charlie Hayes.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (April 30, 2014) at the Broadway Missionary Baptist church in Leitchfield. Bro. Charles Larry Bell and Bro. Jerry Weedman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Claggett Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday and at Broadway Missionary Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
