Obituary
Hershell Preston Tucker, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (August 13, 2016) at his son's home in Mt. Washington.
He was born on July 6, 1927, in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Robert and Sarah Chaney Tucker.
He was a retired civil servant, and an avid gardener who enjoyed making canes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Wilson Tucker of Leitchfield, two sons, Timmy Tucker (Beverle) of Mt.Washington, KY, Robert Tucker (Nena) of Clarkson KY; one brother, David Tucker (Jackie) of Florida; one sister, Frankie Tucker of New York; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Tucker; one sister, Oleta Tucker and an infant granddaughter, Cassidy Tucker.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (August 16, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. His son, Timmy Tucker, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Duff Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
