Howard Lacefield, age 83, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 16, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Hospital in Leitchfield.

He was born on June 28, 1927, in Butler Co, the son of Roy and Elta (Brooks) Lacefield. He was a farmer and a member of The Old Decker General Baptist Church.

He was survived by his wife Barbara (Mitchell) four sons, Kenneth and Larry both of Morgantown, James and Ricky of Caneyville, four daughters, Kaye Hodges and Joyce Vincent both of Morgantown, Wanda Cole of Fordsville and Kristi Greenfield, of Caneyville, one stepdaughter, Sherry Burdette of Michigan, one sister Alice Hack of Caneyville, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren,. He was preceded in death by one son Harold and one grandson James, three brothers, Obie, Odie and Hershel and one sister Jerline Smith.

Funeral services were Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (February 19, 2011) at the Old Decker Baptist Church, with Bros. Charlie and Roy Smith officiating. Burial in the Geary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and at the Old Decker Church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
