Hubert Gene Humphrey, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (June 14, 2018) at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield.

He was born on September 03, 1937 in Buck Creek, Kentucky, the son of the late Albert and Fara Howard Humphrey.

He worked in the banking industry, and started his career in data processing and operations before working his way up to senior management. He was a devoted member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church, holding multiple positions and chairing many committees in his service to the church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Anne Thomas Humphrey of Leitchfield; four sons: Thomas Albert Humphrey (Angela) of Clarksville, IN, Gene Scott Humphrey (Audri) of Columbus, OH, James Steven "Bo" Humphrey (Rachelle) of Danville, IN and John Reid Humphrey (Teena) of Bradenton, FL; a daughter, Stacy Louise Poynter of Nolensville, TN; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, (June 19, 2018) at the Leitchfield United Methodist Church. Drew Humphrey, his grandson, will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
