Obituary
Hubert Jones, age 84, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 3, 2008) at the Medco Center in Hardinsburg, KY.
He was born on October 6, 1923, in Louisville, KY, the son of Courtney and Marshall Jones. He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 24 years of service; He served during WWII, Viet Nam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also a lighthouse keeper In Boston. After retirement from the military he worked for Alcoa and National South wire.
He is survived by his wife, Natalie R. Jones, one sister, Wilma Brown, one grand-daughter, Stephanie Bevars, four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Marty, Austin and Dakota of KY, five grandchildren on the east coast, Heather, Michael, Amber, Kyle and John, several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen Bevars, two sisters, Beverly Carter and Martha Colglazer, two brothers, Elbert and Kenneth Jones.
Cremation was chosen, the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield was in charge of arrangements.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
