Obituary
Hubert W. McMinn Sr., age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (February 18, 2008) at the Norton's Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on November 22, 1919, in Hendersonville, NC, the son of Henry and Dortha E. McMinn. He was a retired Command Sergeant Major with the US Army, a veteran of World War II, a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of the Leitchfield First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Ruth Harrington McMinn, one sister Louise, and one brother Cicel, one son, Hubert W. McMinn Jr. of Waller TX, two daughters, Victoria Swenson of Center Moriches and Charlene Paul of Tucson AZ, his grandchildren: Hubert McMinn III, Lauren Varela, Kristen Mullinnix, Deanna Bocchetti, Kerry Chicon, James Swenson, Michele Rubenstein and Amanda Swenson and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday (February 22, 2008) at the Leitchfield First United Methodist Church, under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Musial Pearson, Bro. Fred Whitmore and Bro. Alfred Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association (DAV).
