Imogene Saltsman, age 82, of Blowtown, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 4, 2023) at her residence.

She was born on September 29, 1940 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Amos and Mayme Decker Mercer.

She worked at the Parent Child Center as a cook for 36 years.  She left a lot of memories and was a mother figure to many of those children and their families.  She loved cooking, gardening, canning and feeding the whole neighborhood. You never left her house hungry. She enjoyed helping others in any way she could. She married her husband, Tim Saltsman on April 7, 1956. She loved to go with her church family and sing at the local nursing homes. She was a member of Blowtown Church for 65 years.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Tim Saltsman; children, Glendell Saltsman, Bennie Saltsman (Thelma), Jimmy Saltsman, Danny Saltsman (Debbie), Sharon Higdon (Jeff) and Timmy Saltsman (Verita) all of Blowtown; eight grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Williams, Shirley Logsdon and Margaret Lasley; two brothers, Clyde Mercer and Charles Mercer; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one young brother, and two sisters, Christine Mercer and Delores Decker.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (March 7, 2023) at Blowtown Church.  Bro. Joey Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Blowtown Newton Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at the Blowtown Church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
