Iva May Day, age 81, of Anneta, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 25, 2009) at the Edmonson Health Care Center.

She was born on August 3, 1927, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of Carl Elmer and Effie Snyder Hazelwood. She was a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church where she was saved July 25, 1938 and has been a member for over 65 years, a member of the Eastern Star #26, Anneta Home Makers and a Volunteer worker for Spring View and Grayson Manor Nursing Homes.

She is survived by one son, John Day (Donna) of Elizabethtown, four daughters, Arlene Brooks (Bobby), Brenda Jaggers (Freeman) and Edie Ferguson (Gayle) all of Leitchfield and Penny Saltsman (Lonzo) of Smiths Grove, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Rev. Edward Day Jr., one son, Leonard Day, two brothers, Ewell and Estill Hazelwood, two sisters, Ruby VanMeter and Ina Harrison and four great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday (April 27, 2009) at the Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. Bobby Joe Meredith and Bro. Malcolm Doyle will be officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 6:00 p.m. Sunday (April 26, 2009), Eastern Star services will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night.
