Obituary
J R Mudd, age 82, of Millwood, KY, passed away Saturday, (June 29, 2013) at his home.
He was born on August 20, 1930 in Caneyville, KY, the son of the late Riley and Nealie Elder Mudd.
He was a retired carpenter and bridge builder for the ICC Railroad, who enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and a member and trustee of the Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his, wife, Doris Cruze Mudd, one son, Terry Mudd (Karen) of Leitchfield, one daughter, Kathy Stewart (Albert) of Millwood, four grandchildren, Krissy Logsdon (Chad), Mindy Renfrow (Chad), Jordan and Jenna Mudd, five great-grandchildren, Alex, Kenzie, Brayden and Briley Renfrow and Hunter Logsdon, and one sister, Laura V Mudd of Caneyville.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (July 2, 2013) at Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church in Millwood, KY. Bros. Kenneth Meredith, Jerry Weedman and Howard Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Vol Layman cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
