Jackson Elbert Reese, age 78, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Tuesday, (August 10, 2021) at Frazier Rehabilitation Institute in Louisville, KY.
He was born on November 16, 1942 in Whitesburg, GA, the son of the late James H. and Wilma Gladney Reese.
After graduating in 1959 from Central High School in Carrollton, GA, he joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17. During his service, he met his sweetheart, Joan, and they married in 1962. He worked as an offset printer with a printing company and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandbabies and great-grandbabies. He was a member of the New Freedom Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Reese, of Clarkson; a daughter, Melissa Reich (Jim) of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Jennifer Cottrell (Jared), Jessica Tuttle (Justin), Jason Reese (Alyse), April Braun (Tommy) and Andrew Reich; six great-grandchildren, Noah and Caleb Cottrell, Brooklynn Toler, Coley & Caleb Reese, and Amelia Braun; two brothers, Barry Reese (Connie) & Tony Reese (Kathy) both of Whitesburg, GA; and a sister, Joan Reese Crawford also of Whitesburg. Several nieces and nephews and his beloved miniature pinscher, Addie Faye, also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Coley Reese and a brother, Jimmy Reese.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, (August 16, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
