Jacob "Greg" Strasburger, 73 , went home to be with the Lord June 5, 2022 at his residence in Dunnellon, Florida .
He was born on June 5, 1949 in Caneyville, KY to the late Jacob Phillip and Dovie (Swift) Strasburger.
He was a hardworking man that loved the Lord. He joined the Unites States Air Force in 1974 where he received an honorable discharge. He retired from Dunaway Timber Company as a grade sawyer in May 2013 after 32 years. He accepted the Lord as Savior on June 15, 1978 and continued to serve the Lord for 43 years. He began singing Gospel Music along-side his wife in 1978. He was a member of Gospel Light Missionary Baptist Church in Caneyville, KY and completed his service to the Lord at Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon, Florida.
He was an inspiration to so many throughout the years, teaching his family and others the love of Christ through testimony, song, and the life he led. He was a devoted husband to his bride, a loving daddy, and a role model to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and carpenter. He could be found spending endless hours in his shop reloading ammunition, making fishing lures or on his boat reeling in the big ones!
He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Strasburger, a daughter-in-law, Shannon Strasburger, one brother and two sisters.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Debra Strasburger; his sons, David Scott Strasburger (Amanda), Joshua Phillip Strasburger (Jena), Jonathan Andrew Strasburger (Jessica); his daughter, Camela Dawn Mudd (Henry); his brothers, Donald Phillip Strasburger (Minnie) and Charles Ronald Strasburger (Adele). He leaves behind twelve grandchildren, two grand-sons-in-law, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, (June 11, 2022) at the Gospel Light Missionary Baptist Church in Caneyville. Bro. Joshua Strasburger will be officiating. Burial will be in the McCanless Cemetery in Spring Lick, KY.
Visitation will be at the Gospel Light Missionary Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of services.
