James "Jimmy" Christopher McGee, age 66, of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Sunday, (August 21, 2022) at his home.

He was born on September 25, 1955 in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Russell and Mary Ellen O'Neil McGee.

He worked as a supervisor at Rough River Marina. He loved working, hunting, cooking and having friends over for his delicious smoked foods. He and his friends formed a band and played together at get-togethers while his food was smoking. He played banjo, electric guitar and bass guitar.

He is survived by his children, James McGee (Sheila), Mandy McGee (Bo), Joseph McGee (Sarah) and Jared McGee (Adrianne); four grandchildren, Brennan, Aydon and Cash, (along with their  mother, Nonnie McGee) and Jayden McGee; nine siblings; and his baby, his dog Lobo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held on Saturday (September 3, 2022) at VFW Post 3852 in Falls of Rough, KY from 1:00 p.m. until 7: p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with his final expenses.
