James Richard Cripps , age 65, of Breckinridge County, KY, passed away at his home on Wednesday November 24, 2021.

He was born on April 23, 1956 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Clarence Andy and Bertha Ann Miller Cripps.

He set examples to his family. He showed his children, through hands on experience, how to be a devoted hard worker. He loved the Lord Jesus more than anyone. Trusting in the Lord was his daily way of living life. He learned to overcome fear. He also showed his family not to be afraid to be a pilgrim in a strange land.

He loved his dearly beloved wife, Charlene Cripps. He loved his four children, Elizabeth Garlinger, Leslie Cripps (Jennifer), Rodney Cripps (Kayla), Amy Sweeney (Nick). He also loved his nine grandchildren, Cody Garlinger, Casey Garlinger, Isaiah Cripps, Ethan Cripps, Connor Cripps, Elijah Sweeney, Isaac Cripps, Oliver Sweeney and Adalyn Cripps. He also loved his one brother and seven sisters. He will be missed by numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandchild and infant great-grandchild; brother, Delbert Dennis and sisters, Mary, Doris and Lois.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, (November 28, 2021) at Dermitt Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of service.
