Loving Husband and amazing father James "Doug" Hannaman's love of life did not end with his death. Doug passed at his home in Leitchfield, Kentucky on October 2nd, 2021 at the age of 72, surrounded by his loved ones and dogs that will continue to honor his memory by living their lives to the fullest.
Doug was survived by his wife Millie, son Jameson/Monica, daughter Joslyn/Danny, brother Jack and sister Janice and their spouses, brother Michael, many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and his dogs Caly and Lily. He is predeceased by his Mother Jacqueline Hutson, Father Paul Hannaman and grandparents.
Doug was born on October 27 th, 1948 in California, where he loved to surf. He worked as an engineer at Victor Valley College until he retired to Kentucky in April 2011 where he spent most of his spare time golfing with his closest friends. He loved and served the Lord. He was an Army veteran and received a purple heart for his service in the Vietnam War.
On June 2 nd , 1973, he married the love of his life, Millie. In February 1978 and October 1986, he and his wife welcomed their two beautiful children Jameson and Joslyn who were the most important part of his life and his best friends.
Doug was a devoted husband, father, and avid golfer. He was a Christian who was always willing to help others in need. He always had a love of animals and never was without a dog or three at home. Many loved him, and he will forever be missed by his friends and family and all who knew him. You may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our hearts. Doug was not one for formal attire. He never wanted to wear a tie unless absolutely necessary. In his remembrance, please do not wear a tie to his memorial services.
Memorial services will be held at Clearview Baptist Church, 505 West White Oak St. Leitchfield, KY 42754, on Sunday, October 10 th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leitchfield animal shelter.
