James "Jim" Hester, age 75, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (February 28, 2021) at Owensboro Health.

He was born on August 27, 1945 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Elzie Thomas and Pansy Marie Carter Hester.

He worked moving mobile homes and enjoyed watching westerns and helping out as a handyman to family and friends. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sandra Kay Nugent Hester, and one special little guy – his best buddy, Kolt Brantley Whitaker, both of Leitchfield; a daughter, Lisa Hester Dennis; four step-children, Rebecca Oblinsky, Shirley Bratcher, Richard Bruner & Cassandra Whitaker; two grandchildren, Delanee Dennis and Michael Dennis; several step-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Hester (Kathy) of Shepherdsville, KY; four sisters, Carolyn Sue Stegall of Elizabethtown, KY, Marilyn Hudson of Caneyville, KY, Betty Jo Meredith (Billy) and Rebecca Hayse, both of Leitchfield; and two sisters-in-law, Rosie Oller Hester and Magalene Saltsman Hester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Lee Hester and Geneva Marie Hester; four brothers, Robert, Howard, William and Marvin Hester; and a step-son, Bobby Lasley.

Cremation was chosen, and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, (March 06, 2021) at American Legion Post #81 in Leitchfield at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Billy Carter will be officiating.
