James Monroe Jinnett Jr., age 80, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 10, 2016) at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab Center in Elizabethtown.
He was born on March 16, 1935 in Grayson Co., KY, the son of the late James Monroe Sr. and Stella Mudd Jinnett.
He was a belt builder for Gates Rubber Company who enjoyed working on lawn mowers and was a member and deacon of the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Jinnett of Elizabethtown; a son, David Jinnett (Aggie) of Hodgenville, KY; two daughters, Rose Dorsey (Trent) of Big Clifty, KY and Phyllis Brown of Elizabethtown, KY; 5 grandchildren, Amber, Tyler and Caleb Jinnett and Julie and Jessica Dorsey.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherry Gail Jinnett, four sisters, Joy, Josephine, Shirley and Dorothy, and a son-in-law, Ron Brown.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, (February 13, 2016) at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church. Bros. Charles Larry Bell and Austin Wade will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at which time services will move to the church.
