James "Mike" Newton, age 61, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (May 8, 2020) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born on September 2, 1958 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Jimmy and Mary Nelson Newton.

He was a former line operator at Leggett and Platt and would have been there for 42 years as of September 1 ^st of this year. He enjoyed being around his family and friends and was a member of the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge #236 and the Loyal Order Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Dinah Newton; two brothers, Larry Newton (Gale) and Pat Newton; two nephews, Brad Newton (Jennifer) and Blake Newton; two nieces, Tiffany Newton and Katie Barrett (Austin); one great-niece, Amelia Newton; and one great-nephew, Crew Barrett.

Private services will be held.
