James T. Phelps, Sr., age 56, of Greenville, IN, passed away Thursday, (August 2, 2012) at the Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN from a lingering illness.
He was born on May 4, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Charles and Marcella Woodcock Phelps. He resided with his sister Delilah. He attended Grayson County High School and was a residential painter by trade. "Tim" was a loving brother, father and grandfather. Tim lived half of his life in Oklahoma and the other half in Kentucky. He never met a stranger and made everyone laugh. He was free spirited and was loved by all.
He is survived by three children, his daughter, Noelle Celeste Phelps of Lexington, KY, his sons, James Timothy Phelps, Jr., of Georgetown, KY and Charles Brandon South, of Phoenix, AZ, a grandson, Austin Tyler Phelps, two sisters, Yvetta Ann Irvin and Deliah Lynn Pearson, two brothers, Daniel E. Phelps and C. David Phelps.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, (August 6, 2012) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Curtis Woosley Cemetery.
