James Carl Sipes, age 86, of Shepherdsville, KY, went to be with Kim on April 1, 2026, at Hosparus Health Louisville.

He was born on January 6, 1940, to the late Hessie and Virgie Coates Sipes in Leitchfield, KY.

He was a former employee of Hobarts Corporation and a retired dump truck owner and operator. He’s been a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church since 1972 and attends Eastern Gate Baptist Church. He loved Classic Country and Gospel music, traveling out West, and being a proud papaw; bragging on “all” of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Frank Sipes of 53 years; his daughters, Sandra (Butch) Miller, Sherie England, and Denise (David) Stone, all of Leitchfield; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and youngest daughter, Kim; and his siblings, Mary J. Hard, Irene Rowe, Wilma Jean Rogers, Doris Sipes, Wendell Sipes and Johnie Sipes.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, (April 8, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rev. Jeffery Anders will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery on HWY 79.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services.
