Obituary

James Elmer Snyder, age 85, of Millwood, KY, passed away Friday, (August 16, 2013).

He was born on March 9, 1928 in Edmonson County, KY, the son of the late Leonard and Ada Constant Snyder.

He was retired from American Standard. He loved working his Belgian horses, farming, gardening, and using his tractor. He was a member of
Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and attended Fox Run.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Theodore (Fox) Snyder; three sons, James Snyder, Jr. and wife Patricia of Millwood, Barry Snyder and wife Shirley of Leitchfield, and Jonathan Snyder and wife Melissa of Bowling Green; four daughters, Elizabeth Roof of Millwood, Tona Lindsey and companion Jeffrey McDowell, Ada Nugent and husband Dennis, and Sandra Carter all of Leitchfield; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Byers of Elizabethtown; and three special friends, Larry Childress, Orville Green, and Emmett Shaw. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wendell, Proctor, and Donald; two sisters, Mary Carroll and Willie Moore; three grandsons, John Eric Lindsey, Jeffery James Roof, and Dennis D. Nugent; and son-in-law Eugene Lindsey.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (August 21, 2013) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Troy Miller will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
