Janet L. Brown, 89, of Clarkson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026 at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes.
Born on December 12, 1936, in Clarkson, Kentucky, Janet lived a life defined by hard work, faith, and unwavering love for her family. She retired after a lifelong career with PNC Bank, where she was known for her dedication and commitment.
Janet was a devoted fan of the University of Louisville and proudly cheered on the Cardinals for more than 50 years. She especially loved basketball and enjoyed attending and watching sporting events. She also treasured the years she spent traveling with her special friend, Betty, creating memories she held close to her heart.
Above all, Janet cherished her family. The holidays were among her favorite times of the year, bringing everyone together, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
Janet found strength in her Methodist faith and peace in the Lord. She touched countless lives through her compassion and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue through those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Beville and Ricky Edmonson (Delores); her grandchildren, Andrya Carnes (Anthony), Shane Edmonson (Amelia), and Roxanna Edmonson; and her great-granddaughter, Mariah Edmonson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lockie Collins Plaiss; granddaughter, Apryl Beville; her husband, Richard Edmonson; and her husband, Tony Brown.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, (July 6, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Mt Vernon Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
