Janice C. Gibson, age 73, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 27, 2012) in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
She was born on November 4, 1938 in Jefferson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Duvall and Elsie Nash Morrison.
She was a retired hairstylist and bookkeeper and a housewife. She was an artist, who also enjoyed reading and quilting. She was a member of the Lucas Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul Gibson, her children, Victoria Hatfield of Louisville, Pauletta Stevenson of Leitchfield, Phillip Gibson (Martina) of Bowling Green KY and Velvet Jones (Tim) of Clarkson, six grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Chris and Seth Lee, Ivan Paul Gibson, Spencer and Sheldon Jones, six great grandchildren, Lukas Lee, Isaac, Lily, Isaiah and Ian Gibson and Braxton Hodges, her sister, Sharon Majors (Eddie) of Leitchfield and a cousin, Joyce Thomas York of Leitchfield.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jacob Hatfield and Cheyenne Gibson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (September 29, 2012) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro Chester Shartzer and Bro. Brandon Sehein will be officiating. Burial will be in the Shrewsbury Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
