Janis Allen Church formerly Janis Hockenberry, 62 of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014.

She was a retired employee of Rough River State Park. After retirement she owned The Shaggy Dog Pet Grooming Salon in Elizabethtown and previously owned The Shaggy Dog Pet Grooming Salon in Leitchfield and Bardstown. She was a member of Falls of Rough Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father Calvin Coolidge Allen.

Survivors include her mother, Daisy Midkiff Allen of Falls of Rough, KY; two daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Maysey of Nicholasville, KY and Teresa Moore of Parrish, FL formerly of Hardinsburg; four brothers, Larry and Roger Allen of Falls of Rough, Jim Allen of Leitchfield and Calvin Allen Jr of Bowling Green; four sisters, Nancy (Billy) Laslie of Hudson, KY, Karen (Doug) Bratcher of Leitchfield, Verna Fentress of Caneyville and Mona Paddack of Falls of Rough; 7 grandchildren, Bethani, Hope, Stephen, Tiffany, Luke, Sadie and Lynsie and two great grandchildren, Josie and Danlee.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Jeff Maysey officiating.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. eastern time Sunday at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home.
