Janis Marie Willoughby, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (May 5, 2025) at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on January 4, 1945 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Essie and Ruby Watson Meredith.

She was a devoted homemaker who, in her youth, enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was also a former beekeeper. A proud graduate of the Leitchfield High School Bulldogs, Class of '63, she carried her school spirit with pride. Above all, she was a woman of deep faith. She loved attending church, reading her bible, and spending time in fellowship with her Christian friends. At the age of 12, she was saved and lived her life wholeheartedly for the Lord from that moment on.

She is survived by her son, Grafton Warren Willoughby; her adopted family, Kennith and Casey Smiley, Candace and Derreck Dewitt, Kevin Smiley, Preston VanMeter and Elizabeth Smiley. She was also known as "Grandma Janis," to Hunter, Thomas and Jaxon.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (May 13th, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Kennith Smiley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Cemetery in Peonia.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
