Javier "Jay" Rodarte, age 62, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (May 29, 2022) in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on July 21, 1959 in Acuna, Mexico the son of the late Jose and Maria Chumaseda Rodarte.
He retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant after 25 years of service and following his retirement worked as a City Carrier for the Post Office for another 20 years. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed playing with his dogs and spending time outdoors. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his spouse, Linda Lush Rodarte of Leitchfield; a daughter, Sarah Lee Rodarte; and three bonus children Barry White (Priscilla) of Nicholasville, KY, Debbie White of Corinth, KY, and Patrick White of Danville, KY; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Torres and Alma Rodarte (Mike) both of Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Rodarte and a brother, Jose Rodarte Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (June 3, 2022) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Father Steve Hohman will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, (June 2, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday, at which time services will move to the Church.
