James Beckham "JB" Mashburn, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (August 12, 2015) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on May 16, 1935 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Barney and Alta Searles Mashburn.
He retired from General Electric after 41 years, working on the assembly line. He graduated from Caneyville High School in 1953. JB enjoyed bowling, fishing, and watching U.K. basketball. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Florene Duggins Mashburn, of Leitchfield; three daughters, Debbie Higdon of Leitchfield, Pam Lippe (Jim) of Rineyville, and Stephanie Santos (Amaury) of North Carolina; one son, Gary Mashburn of Louisville; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Mary Jo Wilcher of Caneyville; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Joyce Duggins.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max Mashburn, a half-brother, James Mashburn, several nephews, and one niece.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (August 15, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Doug King, Bro. Tim Menser, Bro. George Smith, and Bro. Jerry Dunaway will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
