J.B. Ray, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (June 18, 2021) at his home.
He was born on October 3, 1935 in Shrewsbury, KY, the son of the late Buel and Mae Davis Ray.
He was a retired shop foreman for the Grayson County Board of Education, who enjoyed woodworking, traveling and camping, bird hunting and bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Thomas "Tommie" Ray, two daughters, Marilyn Beauchamp (Dennis) and Melinda Ray both of Leitchfield, two grandchildren, Stelyn Kahle (Ty) of Owensboro and Talon Vincent (Hillary) of Leitchfield, three great-grandchildren, Allie and Levi Kahle and Cora Vincent, one sister, JoAnn Vanmeter (Larry) of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers, Dorothy Harpe and Hobert, Howard Wayne, and Tommy Ray.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (June 22, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Neil Carnes and Bro. Billy Bertram will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
