Jerry Basham, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away on Wednesday, (June 17, 2026) in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on November 11, 1942, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Bailey and Kathleen McClure Basham.

He was a proud graduate of Leitchfield High school, who lived on a farm, raised pigs, enjoyed watching birds, fishing and riding his gator during the Labor Day Parade. He also supported the Atlanta Braves, and to all who knew him, Jerry loved mowing and was a major University of Louisville Basketball fan. One could find Jerry most days watching a classic television show, while enjoying a classic Coca-Cola, and he was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He is survived by several cousins who loved him dearly, along with many caring friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with many close aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (June 24, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services.

The family request that all who pay their respects to please wear the color red in memory of Jerry.
