Jerry Lee Dunaway Sr., age 74 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 18, 2020) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born on April 6, 1945 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Walter and Helen Watson Dunaway.

He was a carpet installer who enjoyed his grand-daughters and loved to attend any event that they would ask him to attend. He was a former member and Chaplain of the Leitchfield Volunteer Fire Department. He served for 50 years as a member of the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge #236 and was a member of the Cross Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dunaway of 53 years; one son, Jerry Lee Dunaway Jr. (Patty); one daughter, Tammy Hayes (Steve); four grand-daughters, Dawn Hammond (Nick), Katie Decker (Kody), Tara Dunaway, and Kourtnee Hayes.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Sadler.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (January 23, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rev. Jerry Lee Dunaway Jr. will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
