Jerry W. Kersey, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (July 16, 2017) at his residence.

He was born on October 10, 1952 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Beckham and Gerene Edwards Kersey.

He was a retired Mail Carrier, who enjoyed woodworking, refereeing ball games, camping, and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, and running his lawn care business. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Kersey of Leitchfield; two daughters, Lori Kersey Powell of Leitchfield and Jami Kersey Johnson (Arlando) of Owensboro, KY; one son, Jerry Kersey Jr. (Heather) of Orange, Texas; eight grandchildren, Abigale and Caleb Powell, Isabel and Claire Kersey, and Hessi, Addi, Beckham and Kamden Johnson; two sisters, Pam Bennett (Vernon) of Richmond, KY and Kathy Montgomery of Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (July 20, 2017) at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarkson, KY. Fr. Steve Hohman will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Dermitt Funeral Home until time of the service at St.Elizabeth Church.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Fr. Tony Bickett will be officiating.
