Obituary
Jewell Farris, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (October 28, 2016) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on January 2, 1929 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Guy and Anna Mae Swift Wilkins.
She was a sales clerk at the Western Auto Store, who enjoyed crocheting, working in her flowers and cooking. She was a member of New Freedom Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marion Farris Jr. of Leitchfield; one son, Bill Farris (Carletta) of Leitchfield; one daughter, Sue Farris Whobrey of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, ;eight great-grandchildren, ; one brother, Roy Wilkins (Betty) of Leitchfield; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Murrell and Guy Wilkins; and three sisters, Marie and Cuba Woosley and Ruby Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (October 31, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
