Jimmy Lee Dunn, age 72, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 19, 2023) at his residence.

He was born on April 24, 1951, in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Hardin and Zonia Farris Dunn, into a family of twelve children.

He was an automotive mechanic who owned and operated his own shop, Main Street Auto Repair in Leitchfield. He was a life-long mechanic and had owned his own business for 14 years. His work was his passion and his life. He married Carol Johnson Dunn in 1970. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Johnson Dunn; children, Jason Dunn, Shalene VanCleave, Jennifer Dunn, and Allen Dunn; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; his siblings, Bonnie Braun, Sue Armstrong, and David Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene, Bill, John, Rissie Ann, Estellene, Joanna, Charlie, and Hardin Junior.

Cremation was chosen by the family and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at his mechanic shop, Main Street Auto Repair in Leitchfield beginning at 2:00 p.m. Speaker was Mr. Hutchinson and burial was in the Beespring Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
