Obituary

Joe Bill Green, age 66, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Saturday, (April 21, 2007) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born on April 26, 1940, in Yeaman, Ky., the son of Eugene and Murriel (England) Green .

He is survived by; one son Walter Benton Green and his wife Sharon of Tampa, Florida; one daughter Lana Jo Green-Willis and her husband Bobby of Leitchfield; two brothers Leland Green of Glendale, and Leon Green of Yeaman; one sister Sharon Kay Childers of Bowling Green; three grandsons Jared Willis and Andrew and Stephen Green; several nieces and nephews; and two special caregivers Patricia Payton and Carolyn White.

He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Gay Minton Green.

He graduated from Caneyville High School in 1958 and married Hilda Gay Minton on July 7, 1962. In 1965, Joe Bill and Hilda started Green's Implement.

Joe Bill was a member and deacon at Leitchfield First Baptist Church. He also served as the chairman of the Leitchfield Utilities Commission for many years and President of the Grayson County Fair Board. He was a member of the Leitchfield Lion's Club. Joe Bill was also the owner of the Grayson County Auto Parts/NAPA store in Leitchfield.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 24, 2007) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. John G. Penick and Bro. George W. Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeamen Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 3:00 p.m. Monday (April 23, 2007)

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Parkinson Disease Associion through the funeral home.
