Joe L. Watson, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, crossed over peacefully at his home with family and friends on Friday, November 21, 2008.

He was born on July 25, 1943, in Leitchfield KY, the son of the late Allen and Iva Scott Watson. He was a retired supervisor for the Leitchfield City Utilities, a member of the Dairy Queen Breakfast Club and the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cuba Wilson Watson, five children, Rev. Joe "JoJo" Watson (Dana) of Leitchfield, James Watson (Tia) of Leitchfield, Jeff Wilson (Josie) of Radcliff, KY, Judy Alvey (Vince) of Leitchfield and Jerry Wilson (Marcie) of Leitchfield, one brother, Arthur "Ott" Watson (Patty) of Leitchfield, one sister, Martha Noe (Butch) of Eminence, KY, two half-sisters, Betty and Ida, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday (November 24, 2008) at the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Joe (JoJo) Watson and Rev. Billy Curle will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and at the First General Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church Building Fund.
