Johana "JoJo" Mae Everett Fenley , 62, of Sellersburg, IN, (formerly of Caneyville, KY) passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.
Johana was born on December 27, 1957 in Louisville KY, and grew up in Clarkson, KY. After graduating from nursing school at Western Kentucky University in 1987, she worked for over 30 years as a registered nurse in both Kentucky and Indiana, after beginning her career at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She attended church at St. John Paul II Parish in Sellersburg. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her two pet shih tzus, Oliver and Chloe.
Johana is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Michael Fenley, of Sellersburg, two sons, T.J. Dennison (Kim) of Leitchfield, KY, Aaron Dennison of Hendersonville, TN, one daughter, Chelsea Riggle (Nick) of Jeffersonville, IN, and one step-son, David Fenley of Denver, CO. She is also survived by one sister, Jacqueline Everett of Louisville, KY, one niece, Sarah Church of Louisville, her mother-in-law, Mary Fenley of Sellersburg, and six grandchildren, Hattie Dennison, Nola Dennison, Annie Dennison, Paxton Riggle, Beckett Riggle, and Lincoln Riggle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jean Harned Everett of Leitchfield, one brother, James Everett, Jr. of Leitchfield, her maternal grandparents, Roy and Mae Harned of Peonia, KY, and her paternal grandmother, Fostina "Tinie" Warren of Bowling Green, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (August 25, 2020) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield with Father Tony Bickett presiding. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Peonia.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Monday (August 24, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral home and then from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday (August 25, 2020) until time of funeral mass which will take place at the St. Joseph Church in Leitchfield.
A rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
