John William Carnes, age 67, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Thursday, (February 4, 2021) at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on November 10, 1953 in Louisville, KY, the son of Edna Mae Arvin Carnes and the late Charles "Chuck" Edward Carnes.

He was a Heating and Air Serviceman who enjoyed bonfires, being outside, working around the house, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Minton Carnes; one son, Chris Carnes; three step-children; six grandchildren, Brandon, Tailor, Johnathon, Seantay, Renee, and Shawn; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Mark; and two sisters, Dayle Chambers and Kim Wells.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (February 14, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rick Griffith will be officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
