John W. Hoover, age 93 of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (October 29, 2014) at his home in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on December 23, 1920 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, the son of the late Daniel and Susanna Weaver Hoover.

He was a farmer and a member of the Clearfield Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his children Elva Martin (Luke), Harvey Hoover (Edna), Mabel Hoover, with whom he resided, and her husband Daniel, Ervin Hoover, Rachel Starr, Laura Hoover (Harry), Annetta Hoover (Daniel), Aaron Hoover (Martha), Mark Hoover (Nancy), all of Leitchfield, Allen Hoover (Frances) of Westview, KY, Kathryn Martin (Andrew) of Trenton, KY, Florence Hoover (Phares) and Alma Lied (Wilmer) both of Denver, PA, three sisters, Martha Groff, Alta Rhodes of Ephrata, PA, Anna Hoover of New Holland, PA, a brother, Ivan Hoover (Lydia) of Trenton, KY, and a sister in law Lizzie Hoover. He is also survived by 93 grandchildren, and 46 great grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Anna Zimmerman Hoover, who died in 1994, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, 1 infant sister, 2 infant brothers, and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (November 1, 2014) at the Clearfield Mennonite Church in Leitchfield with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Visiting Hours will be Friday, October 31, 2014 at his residence, 6719 Brandenburg Rd. Leitchfield, KY, 42754, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
